There is a point to determining this is there? I know AE's posts can be a little mysterious.
For my twopenn'th, God knows, I have a girlfriend and if I go beyond a bit of flirtation I know she'll be pissed off.

Ive heard that several times now. so are we determing what people consider cheating or what people consider sex? I think they are two vastly different things.
(wasnt there a thread about cheating at one point?)

I thought we were talking about what constitutes as sex.
A LOT of things can constitute as cheating, since emotional affairs are alive and well. Connecting with someone in a more than platonic way while in a romantic relationship with another is cheating, even if it's holding hands or a quick kiss (but ONLy if it isn't platonic...I hug a lot of my guy friends, but it's friendly and I have no intentions of implying romance or whatnot in them...) And sorry, SGH, if I was going out of bounds.

Star Polish it on something. The virginity issue. If a female's virginity is intact even if she is engaged in other activities would you consider her to have had sex?
Yes there's thread about cheating also.

Another point- I was also taught that when you marry, you wear a white wedding gown which signifies purity, meaning virginity. I know most people probably indulge in premarital sex, but still wear a white wedding gown. I have also seen women that take the plunge twice wearing white, and I know they aren't virgins.

SGH: I seem to remember that it was actually the veil the represented virginity, with a somewhat more "literal" symbolism. Not sure 'bout that, though...

o.O...
I think society places too much into sex as it is. Some people say it's how they're intimate with someone they love, and how close they feel, and yadda yadda, but it's definitely not necessary for a romantic/intimate relationship. And there are other things that can replace it that (to me, anyway) seem just as intimate and emotionally fulfilling. Yeah, there's the phsyical side to it, but I guess that's just not too overly important to me. Not that it doesn't exist, mind you.

I don't see a need to close it though. I'll just edit if I have to, and send bitchy PMs to people.
