I thought it was better known as Fat Tuesday. Or the day of Mardi Gras(spl?) in New Orleans and Mobile.
Anyhoo I'm not Catholic.

Blackboar, it will be the best thing you ever did for yourself.
I'm not Catholic, but I tend to give up things for Lent just the same. I gave up two years ago, and succeeded! I was contemplating giving up meat this year, especially since I won't be in track and not as dependent on the protein and B vitamins, but I think that idea is going t go out the window. I'm going to give up buying cookies at lunch. OUCH!

I told my gym coach that I was giving up running and pushups for Lent. It didn't work. Oh well!

I'm giving up chocolate and crisps for Lent because I'm getting too fat! Not a good thing for a dancer. I'm also going to give up harrassing my mates with emails all the time because I know I'm going to start bugging them soon and lose precious friendships! Soz, I'm having a really down day. Mx

My mom's giving up Coke (the drink) and choclate. She suggested I give something up even though I'm not religious. I suppose I'll give up violin lessons and school.

I never really got a grip on what this whole Lent thing was all about... never been exposed to it.
