Most romantic Tolkien story
So what do you think is the most romantic Tolkien stroy he ever wrote?
Which is your favourite couple? And why. I personally love Eowyn and Faramir, but there are other cute couples in his books, e.g. Arwen and Aragorn, Luthien and Beren .... there are just too many to mention them all. Of course you can also tell me the story which you think is a great love story, but tragic.

I'd say that he could have made own books about these love stories and they would have had thousands of fans just like LOTR.

The love stories that have greatest impact on me are the sad ones. From the top of my head: Arathorn and Gilraen, Aldarion and Erendis, Húrin and Morwen, and the triple Finwe, Miriel and Indis. But above all is the sad story of the love between Aegnor the Elf and Andreth the Adaneth. It moves me to tears every time I read it.

Faramir and Eowyn, if only because theirs is the only one that is described in depth, and for the hairy snog

I love the story of Beren and Luthien, but I am with Artanis here. As I said in another thread: the story of Aegnor and Andreth is one of the most moving and saddest.

For the love of men
Arwen sacrificing her mortality to bolster the blood of future generations of kings of men at a time when the Elves were leaving was not only tantalizingly romantic in theme and inspiration, but was also extremely noble and wrought with the highest order of love.

I think Sam and Frodo's relationship is the most romantic; and no, I'm not saying they are gay. The dictionary says that romance can be: Ardent emotional attachment or involvement between people; love.
I think that describes Sam and Frodo perfectly.

I wouldn't want to disappoint Maedhros and be different from Artanis so I'll say Aegnor and Andreth.
(but I also love Faramir and Eowyn's story!)
