I just went and got it trimmed... it ended up a little shorter in the bangs, she thinned everything out (my hair is so thick that unless I get it thinned it turns into an afro O_o) but everything else looks the same, just 'cleaner'. Hooray! Now I feel tons better.
I also got some badass sunglasses. >.> That helped. |

I like the hair; the way it's clinging a little bit in clumps gives it a vaguely Romanesque feel. Of course, it's still a good deal too short.

My hair naturally does that. I think I actually have naturally wavy hair (my sister and mother do, although my dad is Hispanic so his hair is straight) I've just never grown it long enough to really test that. I think I might keep my hair at this length once the opera is over, although the beard is gonna go.
Thanks guys, you're all sweet. Makes me feel better... although the hair trimming definitely, definitely helped with that too. Apparently I misquoted my friend, she claims she said that I looked "sexy ugly," which.... I'm not sure is any better than ugly? I don't... I mean... I'm still not sure how to interpret that. O_o |

My father used to regularly grow a full beard in the winter, and shave it in the summer, but my brother and I have practically no facial hair, so it must come from the mother's side. I'll have to inquire about our family's elven connections. O.o

So my family has seen my hair now, and my dad and sister were apparently very impressed and told me I look, "totally hot," now. My mom wanted to know when I was going to shave and get a real haircut. |

I'm with your mom on the shave. Haircut, though, is a different matter. It's nice now, but seriously, if it grew out a little, and if the aforementioned natural tendencies of your hair were encouraged and built upon, it would be very nice, indeed.
My mom, on the otherhand, is always (at least a little) horrified when I get a haircut. She didn't like the idea at first, but I've been toying with long hair for long enough that now she's pretty much a fan, and likes me better when my hair is longer.

I liked the picture Tess, but am not sure I like the thinned out Tess.
Seriously though, I think you look real good in that picture. Not girlish at all (to get back to one of your worries)!

I actually think the fuzz looks good, but then I've been conditioned by my lazy boyfriend who only sporadically shaves.

I concur... it looks good! I prefer the bearded look, though.

Its not that I won't let him shave. He looks like a 12 year old when he does. He wears it to make himself look his age

Ditto. Even if I'm lazier about it than I should be.
