HAPPY FORTH OF JULY!!!!!!! The day on which you sally forth from your home and celebrate your forthyness....
Sorry... that was the third. Happy FOURTH of July!!! I accidentally got woozy on rum and coke. >.> I thought it was a 20% proof so I just dumped a bunch of rum in my coke, as much as I knew I could handle without any problem... then I got fairly smashed and went back to check.... turns out it was a 40%. *cough* Woops. Wont make that mistake again. -_- |

See, up here in Toronto, we don't have the 4th of July; just pride parades.

True story: I came up with about five completely inappropriate jokes without even trying, but miraculously refrained from using any of them as a reply.

Ah, but was that you or the rum speaking? :P
Baco (Bacardi Rum / Cola) is nice though.

You know, we've been through at least two cafés without a food war. And I don't mean there should be one.

Does that mean that there used to be more of them?
I haven't particularly noticed any at all ... Was that when the Mooters were younger and less mature?

No sooner does HM the Queen leave Toronto, than a visit of HH the Dalai Lama in October is announced; seems to be a popular vacation spot these days. Though I'll say the Queen could certainly have chosen a better time to visit; the heat is appalling.

It's only two days old, but the joke that Elizabeth is not the only queen in town is already passe. Keep up to date!

OKAY!!! I think I figured out how to use the bus system....
So, does anyone have any suggestions for me free day in DC? I was seriously considering going to the smithsonian zoo, but I'm rethinking because although they do have pandas (which I dearly lurv! ^_^) it's gonna be about 90+ degrees, and I get woosy really quickly in anything above about 87o. So the zoo may be out. I'm not sure what to do... I was thinking either maybe run around to some of the Cathedrals if there are any good ones, or maybe some neat book/toy stores... something. Last year I went to the Aerospace museum and the regular smithsonian museum, and I also went to the Freer art gallery. Suggestions? |

Yes, I was looking at their 6 p.m. organ recital, actually... and the national cathedral has an evensong at 4:30. I wonder if I could make both. I may try to catch tours of both places.

Well, the Smithsonian is HUGE. I'm sure there are spots you haven't seen yet. Apparently you can go see something new there every day!
Lessee, we went to the Goddard visitor centre which is small but really nice and to the aviation centre which is also really nice, especially with kids. The Goddard also has lots of information at 'adult size' though. It's not exactly IN DC though. The Arlington Cemetery is impressive and with lots of trees for shade. When we went there it was nearing 35 degrees C, which I think is about 100 degrees F? but it was quite doable. Just make sure you have enough to drink.

Please, please someone tell me they know of a freeware midi converter! With it, I could learn to play any of my favorite songs...
