I fully admit, i could not ask only one question!!!
- Why didn't you write more stories that took place in Numenor? - Why didn't you tell us more about Numenorean women? - Are "the Faithful" meant to be a metaphor for Christians? And last but not least, - Why didn't you finish Adunaic?!?!?

Nor could I!
One of the questions I would ask, would be, "What would have been different if Fëanor had been willing to break open his Silmarils for Yavanna to rekindle the Trees?" The whole history of Middle-earth would have been very different, but in what way?

That's easy. What did Aragon see in Moria that first time he came in that made him have evil memories? Certainly not the Balrog.

I can't believe how many of you can't count to ONE.
It's easy, "... one..." ;-) I'd still really love to know the origin of orks. Although I suspect that maybe my cat Fred may have been mixed up in the breeding stock somewhere. :-/

I read somewhere (likely the Silmarilion) that Melkor captured some elves, took them to Utumno, tortured them, broke them and made them into Orcs! This is sometimes referred to as Melkor's greatest blasphemy. A quick Google search on "Melkor's greatest blasphemy" will give the details. If you asked Prof Tolkien about this it would be a very disturbing and horrific conversation. It represents one of the most evil acts in the book. I think it would be a great question if you could stomach the response.

Why
One question only ... tough.
Why did you spend so much time working and taking chairs in universities instead of staying home writting? ... we wanted more! Much more! Guys like you should live twice as long as the rest of us! I know he needed to make a living, but so much beautiful unfinished material is just frustrating. for the professor. |

"What would happen, if Melkor escapes from behind the Hall of the Night?"
+ I wouldn't be able to shut my mouth, so I would ask him a thousand more questions. :') |
