How about Oin? Wasn't he killed by the "watcher in the water?"
Btw, do these riddles apply strictly to LotRs, or can they come from the Sil, Unfinished Tales, etc?

Who was that guy?
The Southern Hornblower was eastward bound. In search of that which (when was found), would satisfy his curious craving, send Dwarves and Men and Wizards praising (His Southern Star was well worth raising). The Southern Hornblower achieved great fame, now garden plants shall bear his name. |

a new riddle:
A local legend in his time. The folk all thought he'd lost his mind. They called him "mad" and said he'd "cracked". He never changed, but he did come back. |

SGH, you are correct. Bilbo is the answer.
Also, I updated my e-mail address and now I cannot post in any of the forums. I have mailed this problem to bmilder but am still waiting to be reactivated. Can you help me with this at all in your role as administrator? In the meantime, I will be known as Keith Kay. Valandil, thank you for your compliment. I will have a new riddle coming soon. |

a new riddle...
We were eagerly awaited and long looked for. When we arrived we were answered and sent out the door. Our numbers were many, we caused quite a fuss, and we overwhelmed all who were dealing with us. editors note: not one of my best but y'all should handle it ok. |

Uh... Eggs? Time? A piece of string? Is it the dead that Aragorn led out of the Paths of the Dead? |
