TolkienTrail.com Stats
Since you requested them and they're so good, I'll post them. The server records Hits (The total number of files requested from the server), Bytes (The amount of information transferred in filling those requests), Visits (The number of actual individual visitors), and PViews (The number of Web pages viewed by those visitors). The number that really matters seems to be Visits, as that tracks how many different people went to the site.
July 18th (opening day): Hits: 5,924 Bytes: 49,187,858 Visits: 125 PViews: 1,139 July 19th: Hits: 5,938 Byes: 58,830,006 Visits: 231 PViews: 1,134 July 20th: Hits: 6,825 Bytes: 69,433,586 Visits: 312 PViews: 1,368 |

How do you get such high hits there?

Re: TolkienTrail.com Stats
I'm not entirely sure. But I put more stock in the Visits number anyway

Re: TolkienTrail.com Stats
Every image and CGI activation counts as a "hit". Since the site is interactive, I think it will indeed produce an unusually high hit count.
