Nazgul Tolkiens Lack of Spoons

Ok, honestly, why did Tolkien choose to have ZERO spoons in the Silmarillion? Its obvious that spoons make any good book great, and can you imagine how whimiscal The Silmarillion would be if Beren had had a spoon instead of Luthien? Amazing! I think Tolkien goofed up a bit, don't you?

I totally agree! The lack of spoons is terrible! Turin would have defeated Glaurung much more easily if he stabbed at him with a spoon now wouldn't he?

Maybe Bilbo gave Frodo a Spoon too? And we know that Huan could have defeated any wolf (without dying) if he had had spoons for teeth rather than teeth for teeth.
