Lathe of Heaven
Did anyone see Lathe of Heaven, which aired here 9/8? Starring James Caan and Lukas Haas, who did a good job as George Orr. I was disappointed in that they left out the aliens and the final conflict between George and Dr Haber. Hard book to film, though.

I watched the movie, and I want to read the book but I haven't gotten around to it yet.

The book is a zillion times better than the movie. Another good one is the Left Hand of Darkness, which is about a planet where the people change their gender every month or so. My favorite of hers.

Yup, Left hand of Darkness is a good read. Although really, the Gethenians don't change their gender, they just develop gender temporarily each month out of the neuter state they have the rest of the time.
