Poseidon the Cat
I just got a new kitten a few days ago, and we had some trouble naming it. Our first choices where names of companies that made cleasing products or names of cleasing products (Gilette "Gil", Zest, Lubriderm "Louie", etc.), because our last kitten was named Jergens. You gotta understand - we like interesting names.
Well, by day two we decided his name from thence forth shall be . . . Poseidon. It's ironic and funny considering he hates water and Poseidon was the Greek god of the Sea. Who else can think up some interesting names for cats? Last edited by Rána Eressëa : 05-29-2002 at 04:22 PM. |

Well, for the theme of Greek Gods, my friend has two cats named Artemis and Athene

My cat (who is 20 years old, sheesh!) is named Whisteria.
I think a good name for a cat would be Montgomery. Dunno why.

I'd make a pattern with their names . . .
~~ Snapple, and the twins Pepsi & Nesley. ~~ Frodo, Sam, Pippin, & Merry. ~~ Charmin & Scott. ~~ Luke, Han, Leia, & Chewy. ~~ Jergens, Gilette, & Lubriderm. What's some other good combinations? |

Christian, Satine, Harry
Alto, Soprano, Tenor, Bass (actually, that'd be kind of cool) My friend's cat had kittens on the day the Beatles broke up...I told him to name them after the Beatles, but there were too many.

Galadriel and Celeborn
I think cats are what elves would be if they weren't elves. That didn't make any sense. Aristotle, Plato and Socrates. Or maybe a existentialist would be more appropriate for a cat, so Sartre could be a good name Or more Greek gods. . .Demeter, Zeus, Hermes, Persephone, Hades, Apollo, Dionysus. . .Hecate. . .

How about Jake and Elwood? (The Blues Brothers) Or maybe Thunder and Lightning. Or if you had lots of kittens, you could go for Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, Blitzen, and Rudolph.

How about just "You"? Anytime you wanted him you could just say, "Hey You! Come here!" I think my neighbors once had a dog named Puppy. In the year or so they had that dog, I don't think I ever heard them call him anything but Puppy. "Here puppy, awww such a sweet puppy, good puppy, etc..."

Tybalt? I think he's the one you're looking for. He killed Mercutio. I wouldn't mind having a cat named Mercutio.

Or you could have a whole lot of cats, named:
Romeo, Juliet, Mercutio, Tybalt, Montague, Capulet, Benvolio, Sampson, Gregory, Paris, and. . .Nurse? Or Titus Andronicus. . .Macbeth and Lady Macbeth, or. . .Hamlet. . .Othello. . .Prospero, Ariel, Miranda, Caliban. . . Had anyone read The Enchanted Forest Chronicles? The witch Morwen had some great names for her cats!

Well, if you've ever read the Enchanted Forest series, you could name your cats after Morwen's.. Trouble and Scorn are my favorite I guess that's just me then, eh?
