Sindarin Questions
Is there anyone here who knows of a Sindarin course? I know there is a Quenya course, but I need one in Sindarin for a fanfic I am writing.
Well, if there isn't, can anyone translate the name Star Maiden into Sindarin for me?

That's easy.
Off the top of my head, It's Elwen Alternately, it could be Elenwen or Gîlwen, and you could use inu (female) instead of gwenn (wen, maiden).

Thank you so much...now to determine exactly who she is in the story

Which story?
Elwen the white was Earendel's wife, in the silmarillion.

I'm writing a fanfic involving Legolas (no, it is NOT a romance) that has a female character in it. Dunno if she's going to be his younger sister or a close friend (I reiterate, with nothing romantic about the relationship). If it sucks I won't post it, I promise

I don't remember a character named Elwen.

Ack! Woe is me!
Dylan is right, it seems. My mistake. Elwen is not a character of tolkien's, but rather a common name in fanfiction.

Oh, and nimloth means 'white flower' so it's likely that she was 'the white'.

'White flower' the White? Isn't that a bit redundant?

True. Don't take it to mean I doubt she was 'the white'. Merely commenting...

There's also The Glittering Caves of Aglarond. "Aglarond" means "Glittering Caves".

Hm, so I suppose adding 'the white' or 'glittering caves of' is just something that happened in the translation to Westron (or English).

Suppose so. When Gandalf told Gimli and Legolas that those caves he spoke of were "the Glittering Caves of Aglarond", he may have been translating the Elvish name for Gimli's sake.

Another question: If I am going to use an adjective to describe a noun, does the adjective go before or after? Following in the example of Aran Einior, I figured it went after.
Thus, to say 'young prince' I would say Ernil neth?
