Absinthe - For All you Europeans Around Here ;)
Have any of you tried absinthe? What did you think? Like? Dislike? What are your thoughts on absinthe in general?

I liked it, but a friend of mine who drank it with me said it tasted like gasoline mixed with soda water. He didn't like it.
I can tell you that of all the drinks out there, Absinthe is one of the few that can easily knock you on your ass with your third shot. Not a drink for the faint of heart, to be sure!

Generally I hear bad things about it, but Oscar Wilde drank it, so...

I felt a muscle in my face twitch when I read the title of this post. True story.
:P I've never tried it myself, but I've definitely heard that it's a pretty rough drink. Some of the actors that I know/knew loved it, but supposedly only drank it at parties because it could become extremely addictive. I dunno if they were just messing with me or telling the truth . |

I've never had it, but it's one of those things I've always wanted to try. I was surprised to learn that apparently it's legal to drink it in America, even though it's illegal to sell.

tee hee.
Liked it. No sugar whatsoever; bitter taste is good. No hallucinations to report either... Quote:
Anyone ever had red or black? I had a shot of red once... don't even remember the taste, just that it burnt.

Oh, but you see, with Absinthe, burnt is a flavor.
