Middle-earth map

So, I'm doing a cartography course through work and for one of the assignments, we've been asked to do a topographic/oceanic map of an imaginary area, so I decided to do middle-earth.

(I had to digitise everything and I'm well aware that the scale is complete nonsense)... what do you think?

I think the geography went completely bunkers , but it looks quite cool. It looks like you've got all the possible elements you can encounter on a map.

Well, maybe not *completely* bunkers, but I won't deny that there were a few... liberties... taken when digitising the surface terrain. Not bad for a days work.

Liberties are there for the taking. You did the entire thing in one day? Wow, not bad at all.

Gandalf Gauging distances

Has anyone worked out the actual distances of the ring-bearer's route?
