Trekkies
I'm new here and I want to know if there are any trekkies or "trekkers" in here.

Sorry. I'm not a Trekkie even though I do watch the occasional episode. I've only seen a couple of original episodes and a couple of New Generation episodes. BeardofPants seems to think that this thread belongs in the Entertainment Forum. Anyway... Welcome to the Moot!

Yes, yes! By all means a trekkie, and a Whovian, too.
In a little bit you'll see your thread moved to the Entertainment forum. That's my guess.

I like star trek. I'm not a trekkie or trekker though. I've probably seen about all of the Original Star Trek episodes through reruns. I've seen most of TNG (well i really only understood the episodes in the early 90s, i was born in late 80s, but i did understand and enjoy tng, plus ive seen those of reruns too), ive seen probably 99% of Deep space nine episodes, I didn't really like that series, but it was ok. I've also seen about 99.5% of all voyager episodes. Voyager was good. And It series started when i was in fourth or fifth grade, so i understood it completely (end of 8th grade now only 32 more days of school and onto 9th grade).
ENTERPRISE SUCKS. I've seen maybe 49% of episodes so far. Its really bad. I dont mind missing any episodes. Plots really suck and are similiar. some of the time line is messed up. There is no way you can possibly believe that it happens before the first Star Trek. The special effects are even better than on TNG! And it makes no sense that they are meeting all these new alien races that we never hear of in the other series which in the time line come after. I've also seen all of the Star Trek movies. But i just like it, not a trekkie. I dont obsess. Wow thanks for listening to me ramble! I hope you read that, because......i post for people to read! edit: I would just like to add: no, I dont feel like moving this to entertainment forum. It can stay here. I have my reasons. Also would like to welcome Katt_knome_hobbit to entmoot. I would also like to add how much the Enterprise theme song sucks. Its not even original! Its a real song by some guy. It was not made specially for the serries.

Welcome Katt_knome_hobbit,
I also like Star Trek and have probably seen all the reruns of TOS and William Shatner's hilarious acting. I've also seen most of TNG from the time it started out and some of DS9. I just saw the last episode of the last season of Voyager a couple of nights ago and am having withdrawal symptoms (nothing else to watch at 11pm). They showed all 7 seasons starting with a january 1st marathon and then showing the episodes every night(mon-sun). Enterprise isn't showing here yet but I am inclined to believe Hobbit. It's very difficult to make a prequel about meeting new races and having it last for many episodes (much more seasons) without having issues with continuity.

I used to watch trek ( all series) but it was way to PC. and some of the plots were just darn right silly.
I enjoyed the grimmer episodes. I liked the movies ST II and ST VI no super duper aliens.

My fav ST is the next generation, I think because I have a weird crush on Data (I guess I like yellow skin). I did like Voyager, but I've seen a few episodes of Enterprise and I can't really get into it. That female Vulcan is annoying! I like the orginal Star trek movies, especially the one where they go back in time to Earth to get a whale.

The Truth About Trek
I know what you mean about Data. And that vulcan chick on Enterprize is really stupid! Both DS9 and TNG are my favorites. And everyone (trekkie or no) needs to see the origional series for cultural literacy. I really understand everything they say on star trek. I even get all that stuff about the space time continum as well as the engineering stuff. Oh well.
Peace fellow Seattleites and Trekkies! (Oh, and everyone else too.) Kitty

I'm a Trekkie.
But I have a soft spot for TNG. None of the other ones were quite as memorable. Picard is still my favourite captain. I like DS9, but I was dismayed by how Voyager turned out. Enterprise, I think I will still give it time. I like the characters, all except T'Pol, because she's irritating and not even interesting, which is a really bad reflection on the way she's written and acted, because you usually can't go wrong with a Vulcan. My favourite races are Romulans and Cardassians, although I don't know if you would call them "hot" . |

You know why DS9 was good but everything after that was bad?
It's because the last star trek related thing Gene Rodenberry discused before he died in 1991 was DS9 which started in 1993. Voyager and Enterprize suck a whole motherload of suckage because Gene Rodenberry had nothing to do with them. Others blame DS9's success on the rumour that the concept was stolen from Baybalon 5. Thats stupid though. Anyway, my favorite races are Cardassians and Q. Both are goddamn hot in my opinion.

No, no. The best series is the original. TNG was okay (Picard, Data and 'Q"), and everything else from then on went downhill... Enterprise sucks. And what is it with the music?! And no captains log??

Like I said, Voyager and Enterprize suck a whole motherload of suckage.
(I got that from this guy Matt at school. I had to sit next to him in math and I could never concenterate. He was so funny!) So what is the hottest aliean race, in your opinion, BOP?
