The Worship of Weapons
Since we were shut off of "Wwoooooowww!" because of going off subject, I though I'd start this thread to continue our discussion, and because I just LOVE the weapons in the movie! So, what are all of your favorite weapons from the movie? Being indecisive, I'll list mine, in order of what I liked the most:
1. the bow of Legolas. and the arrows, of course! 2. his knives 3. Sting 4. The balrog's flaming sword 5. Aragorn's bow 6. Aragorn's sword That's all for now. . .

I know, I was wondering what on earth he was doing with a bow! But it still looked cool. . . Gimli's axe was nice too. And the balrog's flaming whip. . .poor Mithrandir!
Glad there's more than one admirer of weapons here.

The Shards of Narsil were great! I can't wait to see it reforged, if they ever get around to doing that in the movie. It was really nice. Another rather out-of-place weapon that still looked great was Arwen's sword. Did anyone else like that one?
But my favorite is still the bow of Legolas!

Oh, good, so they do plan to fit in the reforging somewhere! (I hope!) I only noticed Arwen's sword because I've seen the movie six times, and I wasn't quite as angry about Arwen's appearance as some (Although that stealing of Frodo's moment of glory there was SO bad--okay, off-topic. Calm down, Eruviel!) and I always notice weapons. . .
I am the provider of sharp pointy objects! (okay, not quite, but I collect any weapons that are not guns/explosives/anything post-Renaissance-I just spelled that wrong, didn't I?)

Oh, the last alliance stuff was GREAT!!!! Heh, let's just say I liked everything. . .
What was it the elves had, that they swung up into the orcs at the front lines? They looked like swords but I don't think they were. . .halbards. . .something like that. . . Anyone seen the picture of the banners on the official page? It's one of the desktop wallpapers. . .the spear heads are just lovely. . .

I liked the weapons used in the film especially Sting. The glowing blue blade reminds me of the Lionheart in FF8...sorry must keep on topic. Anyhow Legolas' bow and arrows were cool as well but the balrogs sword was awesome.
(Just for the record, I too have seen the film six times and i am proud of that! It is the most times i have sen a film at the pictures)

legolas's bow/arrows/quiver
glamdring sting arwen's sword was pretty cool, but i also am extremely annoyed cuz of the 'if you want him, come and claim him' bull...arwen is nowt but a ninnyhammer! ooooooooooohhh! who else thought that the blades of Morgul were awesome?!? i love weaponry, and i love RenFaires and the SCA, and you would not BELIEVE how much time i spend searching for good renaissance/medieval weaponry/clothing online!!! would that they would not only make replicas of sting/glamdring/witch-king's sword, but also the bows!!! hmmm...who wants to help me petition the people in charge of making the replica movie weapons for the elven bows and arrows?

I figure, with Arwen's sword, since she was there and there is nothing we can do about it, we can at least admire the weaponry! Morgul blades were wonderful! (was there a weapon I didn't like in this movie? I don't think so. . .) Tinuviel Child, I'm all for making a petition! Let's do that, I really want that bow! Would people here sign it?

yeah, here i am taking my cue from the Lord of the Rings Easter Egg mistake thread, in that they are both writing letters to Cadbury's and raiding the factories....there's an idea!
why don't we both petition whoever's in charge of manufacturing the replicas, and kidnap the actual person who made them for the movie!!! (not really, but it's a fun idea to contemplate ) ELVEN ROPE RULES!!!!!

I was really pissed by the elven swords.
They were just too fantasy. I mean... those things in the LA? And Arwen with a katana? Please. My main beef is it's inconsistent. Arwen's sword is japanese. the The Hobbit's weapons are celtic. Gandalf's sword is pretty english. And Aragorn has a cross between a bastard sword and a small Claymore. Yet all those weapons were likely made by the same people. Either the Numenoreans or the Elves. You'd think there'd be a bit of similarity.
