Bifur's head
Have you seen the newly released images of Bifur? He's got the head of an axe protruding out of the left side of his scarred forehead. What are your thoughts?

I found a nice compilation of all the Dwarves here.
It looks like some sort of hair ornament? Costumes are looking mightily fine, if a bit dark for my taste. I think Weta Workshop wants another Props Oscar. I like it how there's a variety of weapons. Nice to see some warhammers, but was expecting more axes for some reason.

Nice pic, thanks for the link.
The costumes look a bit "Warhammer" to me, but I guess that's what these guys grew up with. Nice to see the dwarves not looking like clowns, though no doubt Jackson will slide in some comedy antics at some point. |

I admit, I was actually looking forward to the coloured caps.
Seeing that Bombur appears to be holding a giant spoon as weapon, I say it'll have to be featured at least somewhere humourously.

Good shout. Bombur allows both shortist and fattist jokes.
Do you think Jackson has issues? |

I'm torn here- their look fits more with LOTR, but less with the more light-hearted Hobbit- can you imagine these guys singing the "gently, gently, with the plates" song?
And DO NOT like Thorin Oakenshield at all, at all- surely he should be a graybeard?

I'm not entirely a fan of Thorin's look either. It's the unibrow, he looks well... evil. Somewhat unbecoming for an heir to the throne under the Lonely Mountain.

Yeah, Thorin doesn't look at all how I pictured, but I know Richard Armitage is an awesome actor and I think he'll make it work. Does anyone else think Kili looks like an elf who needs to shave? He's obviously the "pretty" dwarf to get more girls to watch.
My favorite dwarves were always Balin and Dori, and I am satisfied by their looks so far. |

Fili and Kili were always my favorite, but I'm not crazy about the way that Kili looks more elf-like than dwarf like. Just my take on it...

Man I was so excited when I heard that Thorin's going to be played by Richard Armitage, but my excitement has defused so fast on seeing his neatly maintained French beard and Nazgul-style black armour.
GAH> I liked the OneRing greybeard photoshop image of Richard as Thorin more.
