Problems accessing the Moot
Hi
I and several other members have been unable to access Entmoot for a couple of weeks. My PC simply returns a "service unavailable" error whenever I try to connect. This only affects Entmoot; all other web sites work normally. Oddly, it DOES work on the train (where I am now). I know that Butterbeer and Earniel have also experienced this problem, so it's not just me. Perhaps there is a problem with the DNS entry or something? Just thought you'd like to know why we've been so quiet. |

Luckily, my problems limited themselves to a few minutes of unavailability on previous occasions in the last few weeks and one entire weekend off line, but the site behaved after that.
Curiously, the only people I know of whom are having problems so far, are Europeans. Valandil had no problem with access while I had been cut off an entire weekend. And EXK hasn't been able to get on the 'moot at all for weeks, whereas I could at the same time. I wonder whether it's something related to Entmoot or some part of the internet system here. It's not the individual computers, I've tried on two different computers during the non-entmoot weekend and still no dice. But it's only the Entmoot and the Tolkientrail that I couldn't reach, all the other sites work fine. It wasn't Vbulletin either, other forums worked at the time. Now it seems I wrongfully assumed the problem had been solved when my access came back.

It sounds like some sort of ISP or DNS problem. It only affects me at home/work, not on the train or (now) in a hotel.

So, do we think anyone on the site admin team could check this out? I still can't get on except when on the train.

Hi,
Not able to access the 'moot from my home comp (currently at work). Same problem as Gaffer. I wonder if it's to do with my ISP? (woosh.co.nz)

Now this one as well...
http://europeforum.12.forumer.com/index.php I found this site after a while and it was nice one - I was really happy that I had both the Moot and EF - but from yesterday its inaccessible too for some reason. But Now im back - but its going awfully slow. God! I was having MAJOR withdrawal symptoms. Last edited by Grey_Wolf : 11-10-2007 at 04:52 AM. |

Yet strangely from four O'clock onwards it is fine.

I've had the message "website unavailable" yesterday and this entire evening...
I was shocked.

I've also had the occasional 'website unavailable' message, more frequently than usually. A few hours ago I still had this, but now it's all working fine again.

College life is good - unbelievably, I'm actually a senior now.
Also I just fixed the avatar situation.

Hmm, the avatars are back, but I can't use the smilies when I want to go into advanced reply. I click on them, but nothing happens, they dont show up.
