Back in the day . . .

What did you watch when you were younger?

I remember watching cartoons such as Reboot (my favourite), Rugrats, Rocko's Modern Life, Transformers (the original), and Rocky and Bullwinkle.
Some of the live-actions shows were Are You Afraid of the Dark? and Salute You Shorts.

Ok, here goes:
Captain Kangaroo
Bugs Bunny and Roadrunner
Johnny Quest
The Munsters and Adam's Family
Batman - live action ( remember Adam West?)
Walt Disney and National Geographic - the ones about the animals.
Jacques Cousteau specials
There's more, but I know there's only a few Mooters who can share these memories.

Well, I loved Scooby Doo.
I also watched Bugs and friends and Rocky and Bullwinkle.
There was a Tarzan cartoon I liked.
Of course Star Blazers and Battle of the Planets.
I watched the Superfriends.
Oh, and the Smurfs. And the Pink Panther cartoon.

Live action: Dukes of Hazzard, Little House on the Prairie, later on The Love Boat and Fantasy Island. Then still later on Remington Steele and Simon and Simon. The A Team and Knight Rider. Oh, the live action Incredible Hulk and Wonder Woman! And The Hardy Boys with Parker Stvenson and Shawn Cassidy.
And Kroft Superstars, especially Land of the Lost.

Reboot kicks butt. I remember my elation at seeing the fourth-season minis when they were finally televised last year.

Me, I'm part of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles generation myself, but Inspector Gadget has a special place in my heart... as do the volumes and volumes of Looney Tunes and Merry Melodies shorts.

I actually used to watch American Gladiators all the time when I was nine or ten.

Here goes a trip down memory lane. There was:

Transformers
Voltron
Smurfs
Thundercats
He-Man and the Masters of the Universe
Every Looney Tunes cartoon ever made
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (how could I forget that?)
Scooby Doo
Popeye
Garfield and Friends
and lots more that I'll probably think of tomorrow.

I'm sure I'll be back with more.

I loved Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I used to come home from school, grab a snack then watch it at 4:00. The movies were bad, though.

The Smurfs were good. We used to call a boy at school Papa Smurf, cause he was late for school and it was on just before school started.

I also watched the usual cartoons: Bugs Bunny, The Flinstones, The Jetsons, scooby Doo and Carebears.

Recently I have watched Pokemon, Catdog and Rugrats.

Every Sunday night there used to be a Disney show, which I always watched. Aaah, the good old days.

Ergh. Power Rangers. I'd almost successfully wiped that from memory until you mentioned it!

And I can't believe I forgot the baby muppets, and the muppet show!

Oh, yeah, I used to watch the Muppet Show every week! There is one episode I remeber in particular. There was a British comedian on who was hilarious, but I don't know who it was. "I'm Zen skiing" "Do you believe in fondue?" Sam the Eagle: "Well, I know it exists" "We believe in fondue, too. And when you look deep in your heart you know you'll find melted cheese!"

I also watched Mork and Mindy.

Oh man, Power Rangers were the coolest back in the day! And so were the Carebears when I was about 4.

Does anyone remember a character called Teddy Ruxpin (or something like that)? I can only vaguely remember that he was a teddy bear type creature.

Teddy Ruxpin was one of the first tech toys. He was a Teddy bear that said at least a hundred things. He was quite pricey,I didn't buy one for my girl, but they were the "hot" toy one year, maybe 87 or 88? I guess they had a cartoon?

They didn't have cable, or childrens channels when I was young, Captain Kangaroo and Mr. Green Jeans, The Warner Brothers cartoon special that came on once a week at night like a grownup show, with Bugs bunny and all the gang, batman and the Monkees and a show after school called "Where the Action Is" with Paul Revere and the Raiders, Shindig, Hullabaloo, Bonanza and Ed Sullivan.

I had a Teddy Ruxpin when I was younger, I used to love that thing. I also remember that he had a cartoon or a cartoon movie, I don't remember what it was but I know I had it, along with the story books/

Oh yeah, that's it! He told stories, and you had to buy the stories seperately.

I didn't ever have a toy. All I remember about Teddy Ruxpin is a little of the animated series.
