Stupid Greek Play...
Arg!
For my Higher Classical Studies course we have to study two plays, one is "Antigone" - thats grand, got no quarrels with that. But the other is "Lysistrata", and I need to write a disertation for it... and I havent a clue. From what ive looked at its somewhat dirty! I have two days... has anyone read it? Im not sure its still even published so its a long shot.. Thanks

But if I'm not mistaken 'Lysistrata' is a comic play wherein the women of Greece are tired of the constant war and refuse giving their husband any until they stop warring. Which they of course do eventually. In any case it would surprise me of it was out of print or something. Classics like many of the Greek plays will always be printed IMO.

from glancing over it it looks a bit...dirty...as you said Quote:

So? Since when have intergender relations not been the subject of comedy and art?

I'm sorry I didn't get to this earlier. I had to read Lysistrata last semester for World Lit I and quite liked it. Her always "forgetting" something when she and her husband were on the verge of passion and his increasing randiness was great.
