There is always a fire, and the hall is usually a quiet place for peace and thought, but on some days you may hear songs and tales.

Yes Barrelrider, you are correct. I will have to work hard to challenge you! The days for many songs and tales were called "high days". The fire is always there, as you mentioned, but little other light! Sounds very nice! Gandalf said you could hear many songs and tales "if you can keep awake"! I give myself 20 minutes.

Thank you, Lizra. Where did the hobbits dwell prior to their settling of the Shire in Eriador?

Where do you think one of my favorite descriptions occured?
.......Frodo stood near the open door and watched the white chalky path turn into a little river of milk and go bubbling away down into the valley........ (silly, I know, but I can't resist)

The house of Tom Bombadil
"They had not made any definite plans, but had vaguely thought of going down to Crickhollow together first, and resting there a bit."

Ask away. Sorry about the other quote, I don't think you'd have found it in the fellowship.
