Let's Delete Blatant Spam Threads
Why are blantant spam threads ("Get a free DVD" and the like) threads closed instead of deleted altogether? With the recent server trouble, why not save space by getting rid of these small yet completely useless threads?
People will still click on them out of curiosity, thus wasting bandwidth. Further, their very existence is just plain annoying. Well, you all know what I think about spam. But seriously, especially considering that deleted posts can be restored, I see no reason to keep a thread that was made by someone who only joined the board to spam it and will never be heard from again. Let's keep GM tidy! Throw out that rubbish spam! EDIT: I'm not referring to when a new member accidentally duplicates a thread, or other honest mistakes.

Yeah... because random internet spam results in actual free DVDs... But seriously, why not? It couldn't be harder than closing the thread could it?

If you feel there's a problem with spam threads, feel free to send me and/or Spock a PM about it. Instead of putting up a post where lots of people will read it and use up even more bandwidth!

My real complaint wasn't the bandwidth thing. Well, I would PM you now, but I would just say exactly what I wrote in the first post. This is the feedback forum, sheesh. I meant advertizing threads by people on their first post. I wouldn't say it's a problem at Entmoot, but I don't see why they shouldn't just get deleted. EDIT: You know what Twista? No soup for you.
