NEW BOOK - The Fall of Gondolin!!!
Just saw this...
https://www.tolkiensociety.org/2018/...-be-published/ Does it make anyone look forward to getting it? I don't think it means "autumn"

I know Rian would really, REALLY like this. Too bad posting her name here doesn't count as a "tag" - an alert her that she has been mentioned.

Hah! Let the squabbling over who gets to claim Túor commence once more.
I am looking forward to it, as The Fall of Gondolin remains one of my favourite pieces! But... I am a bit hesitant considering the vast parts that would need to be added to make a consistant whole. There was IMO a lot more material by Tolkien for the books Lúthien and Beren, and The Children of Húrin than this one. The Fall of Gondolin is tragically far more fragmented, unless Christopher Tolkien has since UT discovered more material on it in his Father's archive that has not yet been published. |

Well, SGH is gone *sigh* - and Ruinel is no longer allowed here. Who is left to contest with Rian for him? Would YOU? Are you a "Tuor girl"? Any NEW fangirls of Tuor around here?

They say on 30 August - so I hope it will come to Norwegian bookshops soon after that ...
I'm not a Tuor fangirl, but as Varna's father Rameldir (according to fanfic here on Entmoot) was born in Gondolin and escapes with Idril's refugees when his parents have been killed during the fall of the city - the story and the city is of great interest to me. I have my own fanfic and needn't fight over Tuor

But, but, that's half the fun. There you are! I figured a challenge for Túor ought to draw you out; eventually. |
