best band ever!
well, i thought of starting this thread about the worlds best band. since we already have song of the moment, maybe we should have something about bands also. this post is created mainly for rock\pop bands, but if you want to discuss other genres, feel free.
in my opinion, there are two bands my world couldn't have exited without: Pink Flotd and The Beatles. Beatles have influenced later bands, and they made a awful lot of good music. Pink Floyd, i think didn't influed ohter in the way Beatles did, but they have made some of the most brilliant and asthonishing music ever made. i think other bands are great, Nirvana for an example. r.i.p Cobain. i know some admins, not on this forum, haven't been here so long, don't are very happy about listing-posts. so please, try to make some statements about your music. and don't list up the one you heard one time on the radio.

I like the beatles but pink floyds music shits all over theirs...
Favourite Band - Marilyn Manson - that is Manson, Twiggy, John 5, Ginger and Madonna Wayne Gacy (purely for the fact that no one has replaced him yet hee's not that good), I like Tim Skold but Twiggy is just too good... NIN is probably next...

There's no way I could narrow it down to one or two... and that has nothing to do with the fact that I mod a music forum.
God, best band of the sixties would have to be the Beatles, best of the 70s? Too many.... Led Zep, Pink Floyd, Lynyrd Skynyrd, .....

My favorite band is Pink Floyd.
I like all types of rock though, and most other music, except country and pop. |

I was really into Radiohead at one point too, but all their songs are so depressing. Even the ones that sound happy are filled with irony. Like "No Surprises". It sounds nice, but the lyrics are a little sad. It's a little miserable. The desired life also sounds a bit empty to me. In the background you can hear, "Let me outta here." It's decent stuff though. Maybe not "best", but perhaps "favourite". Last edited by katya : 11-20-2004 at 03:48 PM. Reason: added thoughts |

First and formost, I gotta say my favorite band is the Matthew Good Band. None of you have probably heard of them, since they are (or were, Matt split up the band and went solo recently) a Canadian band, and only popular in Canada. But beyond the MGB, my other favorites are...
Radiohead Pink Floyd Led Zeppelin Queen Breaking Benjamin Coldplay Etc. etc. and so on and so forth. These are only my favorite rock bands, as I listen to all types of music (except for rap and hip-hop), but if I had to be classified as anything I'd first and formost be a rock fan. All of my favorites are too long to list.

Led Zeppelin is the greatest band of all time, and anybody who denies that is crazy.
Pink Floyd, The Beatles, Beach Boys, etc, are all awsome too, but Zep is a step above them all IMO. |

My favourite Bands:
Black Sabbath - They Rock! Ozzy has great Vocals, And Tony Iommi is probably the world's greatest guitarist Mortiis - He is brilliant, and Sarah Jezebel Deva has great Vocals on some of the tracks on The Smell of Rain The Sisters of Mercy - The original Techno-goth, who can argue with that HIM - Not only does Ville Valo have a great voice and body, but the lyrics to his songs are excellent |

I don't know who the best band is, but I personally think the following are pretty good: Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, The Beatles (mainly before they became druggies), The Eagles, Stephen Wolf, and Lynyrd Skynyrd. I think there's more, but that's all that comes to mind at the moment...

recently just found a good classic rock and roll station in my area. I haven't seen Credence Clearwater Revival mentioned in this thread, yet. "Down on the Corner" is the best happy music you'll ever come across.

Are you kidding? CCR is the bomb! Cross-Tie Walker, Born on the Bayou, Put A Spell On You, Midnight Special, Tombstone Shadow - Creedence is a staple all-American band, that's for sure. Classic!

not to mention House of the Rising Sun, Have You Ever Seen the Rain, and Proud Mary. My day is always a good day if I hear Credence on the radio.
