Lore Masters' Quote Game - Part 1
This has the same rules as the other thread, which I'll quote here:
Quote:
Oh, and one more step - before we can move to the next quote, someone needs to tell us which text the quote comes from OR what it's talking about. (Not both.) Ok, so to start us off: N_y/!/_h_u_h/_/d_/n_t/_o_d_m_/,/y_t/_t_l_/I/_i_l/_u_g_/./H_r_i_/I/ _e_c_i_e/_o_/o_l_/_h_/d_r_c_/w_l_/o_/E_u/,/_u_/f_u_t/_n/_i_/c_e_t_r_s/./ _o_/g_i_t/_e_/a/_a_l_n_/f_o_/t_e/_i_h_s_/w_i_h/_s/_h_/H_p_/o_/w_i_h/_h_/ K_n_/h_t_/s_o_e_/./A_d/_/d_u_t/_o_/t_a_/t_e/_a_i_g/_f/_h_/h_g_e_/r_a_/,/ a_/a_c_n_/t_a_/t_o_g_/h_r_/w_s/_o_/i_p_s_i_l_/,/w_s/_a_t/_f/_h_t/ _u_p_s_/o_/i_m_d_a_e/_o_d/_f/_h_c_/N_ë_n_/s_e_k_t_/./

Curufin - the title of this thread seems a bit wordy.
Should I rename it? Would you like: "Lore-Master's Quote Game"? And then we could explain in the opening post where the quotes are to come from...

I was thinking that myself, Valandil!
Feel free to change it. I like 'Lore-master's Quote Game'.

I've made a jumble of this jumble but it's a start.
E: looks like I overlapped several posts while I was thinking/typing... Ignore this one....

Another try:
Nay! / Though I do not condemn, yet still I will/_u_g_. Herein I describe you only the direct will of Eru, you/f_u_t/in his/c_e_t_r_s. For guilt/_e_/a/_a_l_n_/from the highest which is the Hope of which the King hath spoken. And I doubt not that the waning of the higher/r_a_/,/ as ancient that though hard was not impossible, was part of that suppose of immediate good of which Niënna seeketh.

Nay! Though I do not condemn, yet still I will judge. Herein I
perceive not only the direct will of Eru, but fault in his /c_e_t_r_s/./ Now guilt/_e_/a/_a_l_n_/ from the highest which is the Hope of which the King hath spoken. And I doubt not that the taking of the higher road, a_ /a_c_n_/ that though hard was not impossible, was part of that purpose of immediate good of which Niënna seeketh.

'an ascent' is correct.
'falling' is not. And ACK - but 'now' in the third line is also incorrect...I must have missed that.

Nay! Though I do not condemn, yet still I will judge. Herein I
perceive not only the direct will of Eru, but fault in his creatures. Nor guilt get a failing from the highest which is the Hope of which the King hath spoken. And I doubt not that the taking of the higher road, an ascent that though hard was not impossible, was part of that purpose of immediate good of which Niënna seeketh. I think there are still at least a couple errors. I'll guess the speaker, too: Mandos?

'nor' and 'get' are incorrect.
And no, it isn't Mandos.

Nay! Though I do not condemn, yet still I will judge. Herein I
perceive not only the direct will of Eru, but fault in his creatures. Now guilt set a failing from the highest which is the Hope of which the King hath spoken. And I doubt not that the taking of the higher road, an ascent that though hard was not impossible, was part of that purpose of immediate good of which Niënna seeketh. Manwe?
