The Wheel of Time
Anyone else read this great fantasy series? In my opinion, it rivals Lord of the Rings for best fantasy series of all time. If you haven't read them, I highly recommend them. Start with the first book, The Eye of the World and proceed from there.

Re: The Wheel of Time
I´ve read every book in the Wheel of Time up to The Crown of Swords. I´ll get to The Path of Daggers soon. I am amazed by all the details that are in the story. I also think it is an interesting concept and good character developments. anduin, you should try and read it . It is worth it.

Re: The Wheel of Time
Oh, my God! Wheel of Time is THE best fantasy series there is. It is THE number one fantasy series out there. There is nothing that compares to it.

Re: The Wheel of Time
Rob Hal is here? That should increase the post count quite a bit. Elaida, once you finish the series you may want to choose another name.... she gets pretty nasty as the books go on.

Re: The Wheel of Time
Yes but Elaida is now a weak person. She will not have much more influence in ther series. She is controlled by Alviarin who is controlled by Mesanna (presumably).
And about me increasing the post count....I 've only posted about 5 times in the last three weeks so HA! And plus, I never read Tolkien...he...he..he... |

Re: The Wheel of Time
I finished The Path of Daggers yesterday. I thought it was much better than book six and seven. So now I have started to wonder what will happen next.
Does anyone know how many books Jordan intend to write in the Wheel of Time series? |

Re: The Wheel of Time
Currently, it's supposed to be about twelve. Of course, when Jordan started, it was supposed to be just five, but obviously that's changed.... at least 12 will be required, in my opinion, maybe more.

Re: The Wheel of Time
Thanks.
I agree that at least four more books are needed to the series. |

Actually . . .
I had read that there are supposed to 13 books in all, though I haven't heard an update in some time, and since I have recently moved, I have lost a lot of my old information sources.

Re: The Wheel of Time
The Wheel of Time series, imo is second
only to LoTR. It is an excellent read. What also sets WOT apart from many other books in the genre, are his strong female protagonists...both heros and villains. But even his heros (male and female) have their bad moments and irritating character traits, lol! K'haylan |

Re: The Wheel of Time
WoT is definitely the second best fantasy series ever next to LotR. The next book, Winter's Heart, is coming out in November. They also have an AWESOME game based on the books powered by an enhanced Unreal engine. The learning curve is a little steep, but once you get the hang of the 40+ weapons (offensive and defensive) you'll learn to appreciate the full complexity of it. It's got a devoted online community as well, and most of the people who play the game also post on the forums at www.wheeloftime.com, the official site. The creator of the game, Glen Dahlgren, still plays WoT online and posts on the message board occasionally, which says alot as well. The online multiplayer experience is hands down the best of any computer game available today, and it's single player side (which is set 200 years before the books) has an rpg-like quality to it with an involving storyline. Plus, you can get it for like $20 or $30... my name there is Glaurung too
