What parts made your tear up?
I teared up at Theoden's death, when Sam said "I can't carry it for you, but I can carry you," (I LOVE that whole scene) and at the Grey Havens, as well as a couple of other parts that I can't remember right now.

Well, I thought it was sad to see Elrond all teary eyed. I hate to see a grown Elf cry. I also found it very sad when Denether rejected Faramir like he did.

Lots...I'm a big baby.
-Pippin and Merry's parting -Pippin's song...oh..my...not expecting that. I was 92% spoiler free. Arg...more, but tired and have homework. Most definitely heart wrenched and sobbing at Mt. Doom, and Gray Havens scene. Nearly broke down and practically sobbed OUT LOUD when Frodo kissed Sam's forehead. ::dies::

The charge of the Rohirrim.
Sam on Mt. Doom. The Grey Havens. I didn't actually cry, mind you, I just got a little misty-eyed.

The hopeless, mad attempt to regain Osgiliath. The flowers that were thrown to the men who rode to a certain death. Pip's song.
The charge of the Rohirrim. That was the best part of the entire movie. Frodo crawling up Mount Doom. Sam carrying him. King Aragorn bowing to the Hobbits.

Pippin's song, even though Denethor's loud eating was a distraction.
"Don't go where I can't follow." It was too rushed, but still nice to hear. The Rohirrim didn't make me tear up, but it literally sent shivers up my spine.

I didn't actually cry, but I was a little choked up for many scenes. I was practically grinning from ear to ear teh whole second half of the movie.
The bowing to the hobbits The parting at the havens Sam carrying Frodo up the mountain Legolas and Gimli's friendship scene The eagles coming The meeting of the fellowship again, many people in the audience were laughing at this, but I found it to be very touching. and many more

I didn't cry, but I got choked up on quite a few parts. When I cried (actually, eyes welled up) was during the departure scene at the Grey Havens. I almost wanted to when Denethor said he wished that Faramir had been in Boromir's place and you could see the HURT in Faramir's eyes (his eyes welled up with tears).
They were pretty powerful scenes, along with a ton more! |

When I saw how PJ butchered Denethor's (and some of Gandalf's) parts.
Well, okay, maybe also Bilbo and Frodo at the Grey Havens, and Sam carrying Frodo, and Agent Smith with Liv at the (coronation? wedding? whatever).

Agent Smith? where?
Sam's wedding and his return to the Shire to pick up his daughter. Did you know that was actually Sean's daughter?

I did know about Sean's daughter. Alexandra Astin? I think something like that....Very cute. Parts I teared up (or almost teared up) at Sam on Mt. Doom When he was talking about Rosie..I couldn't help it... So sad!! And I was so happy when he saw her again. Pip's song Billy Boyd has a beautiful voice. And the hopelessness of the situation and denethor being...such..a jerk! Merry and Pippin's parting Denethor being a jerk to his son When Faramir teared up, I teared up. He was my favorite character in the book and I am so happy he is portrayed so well in the movie...not enough screen time!!!!! Grey Havens I actually wasn't as moved as I thought I'd be. I don't know why...but it was pretty good. The Rohirrim charge and Theoden's speech I absolutely loved this part. Everything about it was beautiful. Even though Theoden was a bit annoying in TTT, he has become one of my favorite characters. Theoden's deathVery good scene. Worked. (unlike some others *ahem ahem*. let's not complain here..)

I was so close to crying when Denethor rejected Faramir! (Actually, I think I did... ) Other parts that were real tear jerkers were Pippin's song, when Faramir and his men were leaving to defend the river city and people were throwing flowers for them, Pippin and Merry's parting, and when Frodo left for the Grey Havens.
(A guy in the theater dress up like an elf. Cloak and all! His hair was long and braided too! )

Well . . . when did I cry?
~With frustration at Eowyn's scene ~The Denethor-Faramir scene and the following despairing wander off to battle ~Some scene with beautiful scenery ~A large amount of the beginning of the movie ~A large amount of the rest of the movie I was surprised, actually, at how many of the scenes had that effect on me. Some of them were lousy and I cried for what was butchered, too, but mostly I was crying because the actors were doing a marvelous job showing emotion. Most of the Grey Havens scene left me dry-eyed, though. Sam's sorrow was good, but I was too busy obsessing over how I didn't like the scenery and how it seemed for a moment like Frodo wasn't going to sail away to really notice the rest of it . . . Quote:

several parts.
Pippin's song, The charge of the Rohirrim, When Aragorn made the charge to distract the eye, and said, "For Frodo" and then Meryr and Pippin charged out. That was amazing. Grey Havens, and when the movie was over, because I loved it so much.

They guy who dressed up as an Elf is my hero. How I wished the theater would let me bring my Gimli mug (The top of his helment is the lid! So cute!) in. But noooooooooo! *pouts*
I don't think I actually cried in the movie, though my heart did stop when Frodo and Gollum fell. I teared up at Merry and Pippin's parting, when Frodo told Sam to go home, when Denethor was so cruel to Faramir, Pippin's song, and when Theoden died. I would have gotten sad at the Grey Havens, but I was upset becuase I thought Peter Jackson cut the whole Frodo leaving thing. I'm also a bit upset at the cutting of the Scouring of the Shire, and the Black Breath thing. I know the movie was already forever long, but still....
