It's hard to say. Eru, of course, created Ea; however, the Valar, to their surpise, had to build Arda once they had entered into it. It was built up by them, especially Aule, and torn down by Melkor many times. Then parts of it were broken during the two wars of the Valar with Melkor in the North. It's even said that Melkor raised the Misty Mountains (or at least raised them higher than they already were) to hinder the riding of Orome.
Since you use the word "created" I would say Eru; otherwise, in the sense of "construction," I would say the Valar (including Melkor, even if they eventually drove him from their midst). |

But the Valar did not make Bilbo's pipe.

Well...
Actually, since energy is conserved, and matter is energy, all the matter in the universe must have existed in the initial creation. When the valar shaped ea they turned this into useful things, including plants. Now since bilbo's pipe is most likely wooden, the valar would indeed have ultimately created the wood it was made of.

Three were Curumo, Olórin and Aiwendil.
The other two depend on what version you follow. You might say that they are Alatar and Pallando, or you might say that they are Morinehtar and Romenstámo/Romenstar. Let's see if I can think of a hard one, ... What did Varda possess and imbue a celestial object with that incurred the jealousy and wrath of Melkor?

I think she "posses and imbue" few (nine or seven) stars. I'm not sure.

Not the Silmarils or nine or seven stars. I think, Radagast, you are thinking of the Valacirca, the Sickle of the Valar, which was made up of seven stars. We know it as the Ursa Major.
RÃ*an, no, I wasn't over at the Silmarillion project.

OK, since it is now "tomorrow" and no one has come up with the answer, I'll post a copy of what I posted over in the Sil discussion thread:
--------------------------------------------- Here's the MR quote about Varda - it's from Myths Transformed II, where JRRT is fiddling around with the idea of the round earth and the sun and moon around before the two trees, etc. : Quote:
---------------------------------------------------- Funny timing, wasn't it? I really thought perhaps Ñólendil had happened to be over at that thread and thought it was a good trivia question! So my answer is "A light that is holy", given to her from Ilúvatar (I would guess most probably "the Flame Imperishable", although it isn't specifically called that). OK, back in 5 minutes with a new question

Assuming I'm right, I'll go ahead and post 2 questions - one for those that have HoME (History of Middle Earth) books, and one for those that don't.
HoME question - Beren One-Hand had 2 "wise-women" in his family tree - what are their names, and what "houses" did they come from? non-HoME question - Who is Éomer's cousin?

Yes, that was of course the right answer.
To your HoMe question: Andreth and Adanel. Andreth was of the First House, and Adanel of the House of Marach (I don't know if that is considered the second or the third).
