Hurricane Rita - worse than Katrina?
Hurricane Rita has now grown to category 5 and is on a course for Texas.

What is it with you and hurricanes. Just playin'. I wonder if all these incredible hurricanes have something to do with the planet's climate changes.

what is it with me and hurricanes.. .what???
Did you read what I posted, are you following the news on this storm? It is bigger and stronger than Katrina. It could be devastating....... Some members thought that a Katrina topic was made too late, so I made this topic at the right time - right when I heard that it had elevated to a category 5 storm and could be one of the most devasting storms to hit the U.S. mainland... Hopefully it doesn't cause anywhere near the damage that this is predicted to cause! The coast of Texas could look like the coast of Mississippi.

Well as of now it's got 165 mph winds and it can grow more.....if it takes a turn, we can make N.O. an inland port.!

Its like 5+ now and gaining strength. Katrina picked up 5 story casinos and dropped them 1/2 a mile inland on a major highway and that was with 150 mph winds. So this thing is no freaking joke...

My grandparents live near the coast, and they got out yesterday.
It's so sad--the house they've lived in for almost 40 years now is probably going to be nothing more than a pile of wood, glass, and bricks if Rita doesn't lose power and just smacks into land the way it is now. |
