What are you most afraid of?
Just curius. I am afraid of sharks, Crocs, alligators, ghost(I am superstitious). Sometimes even people.

Yeah, apathy gets me too, RE.
I don't really have any big fears, apart from the usual big scary wetas! However, I suppose my biggest fear would be the vulnerability of women. The knowledge that I - or any woman - can not walk the streets safely, for fear of being mugged, or raped. Also, even though I have relatively extensive knowledge of Taekwondo, I know that these skills would be next to useless up against brute strength.

Normal people. And the fact that we protest about just about everything yet nobody wants to actually do something to improve what they protest against. Did I mention normal people?

My greatest fear is waking up to my bionic arm choking me due to a localized EMP.
Oh, and kittens, too.

My own imagination scares me to death. Because I can sit there and just imagine, for five minutes, what would happen if I was driving down the road somewhere at night and some guy in a car next to us pulls out a gun and kills me and my parents? Or if our house got robbed and we were all shot and killed? Or worse - if i survived but my parents didn't? Or if our house burned down? See what I mean? I can make myself cry if I want to...

The vulnerability of women is a good one. Makes me wish I could carry a nice sharp sword around (and be able to use it effectively!).
I dislike heights and thunderstorms. I also have some pretty bad nightmares sometimes after which I fear going back to sleep. My biggest fear is nuclear war. After that incident in Arkansas I could very well fear that happening, too. |

There are different levels of fear for me:
Learned and associative - spiders Inherent - pain But , perhaps my biggest fear is making a mistake that causes unnecessary pain or suffering of others.

Ah yes, fear. The reason I don't watch horror films.
I have a friend who says (a lot), "The only thing to fear is fear itself." I beg to differ, thank you very much. I'm afraid of spiders, being abandoned, losing friends, and no one ever wanting to marry me. And I know the feeling of waking up from a nightmare and being afraid to go back to sleep. Usually I sneak down and get in bed with my mom. You're afraid of being stuck in a room with Christians, BoP? Can I ask why? lol

You shouldn't fear it too much. Some of us aren't so bad.

I have nightmares where something at the foot of my bed growls or snarls or doesn't do anything just spreads out a darkness penetrated by only a pair of red or yellow eyes filled with hatred for me and my protecter. A dragon or Balrog more likely than anything. Scares me so bad that I cant move, I dont even breath until I finally turn over and go to sleep(believe it or not I still sleep with a stuffed animal ) gazing at the moon on my dresser as it sets in the west.
It's like being in Tom Bombadils house where you dream there's something you fear and when you wake you think you haven't woken but when your hand moves slightly you feel the covers of your bed or your pillow(or in my case my bunny rabbit) something tells you to turn over and look out your window or to begin a quiet song in your heart and slowly the fears fade into a deep peace and quiet and then you fall asleep into a dreamless dark and then you wake to find the sun risen and a full day ahead of you. It's actually a kind of cool feeling turning over and realizing all is well. Totally relaxing and calming. I HATE roller coasters with a PASSION. And the wind at night in my pine trees. YIKES talk about some unknown terror out to getcha. But ghosts I dont mind. I watched the Sixth Sense and I was sniggering the whole darned thing and then I watched The Mummy and I laughed my head off. So I dont mind ghosts. BUT I ABHOR ghost stories. I mean I read this story about faeries once and it took me FOREVER to get to sleep. I mean these were no little tutued tinkerbells. These were malicious man eating faeries that lured young men to their deaths. EEESSH! Sam

I fear suffocation.
The other week, when I was sick, I woke up suddenly as a result of phlegm covering my windpipe. That was scary. I fear that. |

Big pink and purple hearts
Actually. . . I would definitely agree with the vulerability of women...and my own idiotic confidence sometimes, as well. I often walk around alone at night, and though I live in a pretty safe place, one can never be too sure...and I never think about what could happen, and if I do, I am overconfident in my abilities to deal with whatever might happen, then later I realize just how stupid I'm being... And death--not my own, but being surrounded by many, many dead people...just the idea of being the only one left, and everyone else being dead and. . .well, it's this sort of 'worst nightmare' thing for me, I guess.
