Braveheart

Funny, I thought there would already be a thread for the best movie ever. Actually, I never saw it, but I'm seeing it in about half an hour, and I thought I'd tell you now. What do you think about it?

(spoilers OK)

I think it is a great movie...though I can't stand to watch some of the parts because I get sick at the sight of blood.....but besides that it is an AWSOME movie!

Indeed, a truly great film. Mel Gibson is a capable director as well as an actor. Probably the pinnacle of his career.

I loved at the end when he cried out "FRIEDA!"

Great movie! Shows you how evil the English actually are
Mel Gibson was awesome as the infamous William Wallace.

Braveheart = best movie evar

Mel Gibson's war speach was 10 times better than Maximus'.

It came on german TV just a few days ago and it was the first time that I watched it until the end.

My favourite character (besides W.W.) is the Irishman. In questions concerning England, Ireland and Scotland I can´t be neutral because in my youth my favourite pub (that I used to frequent) was an Irish pub.

One thing I didn´t understand. Did The Bruce really carry on fighting against England after W.W. was dead?

Another movie to be recommended is "Michael Collins" with Liam Neeson in it.

Donald, where's me troosers?

I enjoyed Braveheart, great cinematography etc.........but some of the character acting was a bit, well, naff

Much preffered Rob Roy starring Liam Neeson (made about the same time as Braveheart).

Bombadillo recommended that to me too. Although neither of us have gotten around to actually seeing it yet.

Rob Roy is a great movie, though I haven't seen it in a long time, and I don't remember much of it. I'll have to see it again.

If ya like that kind of period-piece then it's a great way to spend a couple of hours........none of the big fight scenes like 'hearty.......but some fantastic character acting

Braveheart is one of my favorite movies ever!! The person who played the English king was an awesome actor, and Mel was very good.

hmmm...I don't remember any female nudity, nor would I want to.

It was a taunting scene before a battle. They weren't wearing anything under those kilts. So you just gotta love it.

oh.... I don't remember that part. Was he naked? See, I would have remembered that.

Though, IMO, Mel Gibson, who has a nice bod, is getting a bit old. What is he, like 50 now?
