Weird turn-ons/ first things noticed in opposite gender
Hey, sorry if there's already a thread that covers this, I did a search and couldn't find any (which surprised me!). What's the first thing you notice in the opposite gender? What are some turn-ons/ turn-offs?
I know that I have an obsession with noses, hands, and backs. I'm kind of odd though. But you just gotta love a guy with nice shoulder blades... I mean, come on...

I have an obsession with noses too! And ears. Since no one here would know who I'm talking if I used real acquaintances, I'll make reference to attractive actors.
Elijah Wood and Sean Astin have attractive noses. Especially Elijah Wood. Very straight...I like straight noses. Elijah Wood also has gorgeous ears, as does Orlando Bloom. Dark hair (either slightly long and curly or spiked with gel), wire rim glasses and tall...ness are things I find attractive, physically.

I like big, nice noses. Not like, fat tho. Big and angular. Angular faces in general are nice.

Fake eyes? What? LoL.
Not spiked like, oh look, my hair's down to my chin and I use wax to put it in elaborate individual spikes. More like, oh look, my hair is three inches long, I think I'll put some gel in it and run my hands through it. It may not seem like it, but I have a very unconventional idea of what is attractive. I don't like your "average" bleached blonde, totally pumped ( ) macho dude. Give me a pale skinned, skinny (or slightly chubby...just no over-buffs, please) beatnick any day. And being physically attractive means basically nothing. Puah. Because I take my religion seriously, that is a factor. As is general sense of humor, and just the right amount of chivalry. My last boyfriend was chivalrous to the point of annoyance. I was probably more fit than he was at the time, but he REQUIRED that I walk in front of him, for protection. Even when we were in each others houses. ARG!

Yes, colored contacts, wot, wot.
Hmm, does sound a bit overchivalrous...

What's worse is I could probably do more damage to an attacker than he could. We were both in track, and he was probably faster, but I'm pretty sure I'm stronger, and I've got eight years of martial arts training under my belt. Now that I look back on it it's funny, but it wasn't then. Just irritating.
Oh. I also am very attracted to spontaneity (sp?). That was probably the only trait my last (who also happened to be my first) boyfriend had that I've listed, other than tall...ness. I like eyes and smiles too, but that's not odd. And who had contacts? Elijah Wood does, but they aren't colored. He has nice eyes.

I was mainly referring to OB.
With my usual lightning quick mind, I've just now realized that this was covered in the Women's thread, if I'm correct.

I said ears, not eyes. Well, typed, not said.
Funny, haven't had any male replies to the actual topic on hand.

I haven't thought about particulars, but I'd say overall what turns me on in a girl (in terms of appearances; I agree with you completely Starr Polish about that not being nearly everything)is that she is slim and pretty. Not stunningly beautiful though, for I might clam up and not say a thing. Last edited by Lief Erikson : 03-23-2003 at 03:28 AM. |

Starr: I know what you mean about unconventional guys, all the guys ive ever liked have been, i guess, not what everyone would consider 'good looking'

I've seen mainstream "hot" guys and considered them physically attractive, but not in my interest. But I have a definate preferance for pale, black hair, cold eyes, medium height, thin (or slightly chubby, as starr said) , moderately angular features...
lol a few weeks ago a friend and I were at the mall and these goths (including one who matches my description perfectly lol) kept walking bye us and as we were leaving they called to us and stuff... I hate it when people do that. I feel awkward and I often totally ignore it, so they kept calling to us as we were leaving... which stinks because in that case i still feel badly for not acknowledging that I heard them, considering, atleast the one guy seemed quite cool.

Let's see.... I love long hair and pretty gray-blue eyes. Let's see... my dream guy has to have: long brownish hair, pretty eyes, sense of humor, odd and eccintric (like me! ), o.k. student, NO hick accent, NO BIG CARS (I like small Hondas), and somewhat-muscular. NO HUGE FOOTBALL PLAYER "A" TYPES!! Oh yes, and a LotR (not just the movies) fan. Think I'll be able to find him with my high standards?

I always notice their eyes first. He has to have nice eyes and a nice smile. I preffer brown hair and brown eyes. Tall, I'm fairly tall but i preffer them taller than me. I don't like guys who are really loud and mess around all the time.

He must be taller than me.
There is a really cute kid at my school. I would consider dating him, but the top of his head reaches my shoulder. Maybe even shorter. He could pass as an eight-year-old. Otherwise, a guy must have a sense of humor and must be reasonably intelligent (sp?). I'm not saying genius. Just intelligent. Eyes are nice. Smile is nice. Ears must not be pointy unless he is a true elf and can trace his ancestry back to a character mentioned in RotK:Appendixes.

eyes and hair.
i love long hair on guys, as long as they keep it washed... long wavyish really, like brandon boyd from incubus. throw body type and the like out the window, the only physical things that matter to me are as above. i erally like red hair, but it's not limeted to that because i also really like dark features, and fair ones.. hmm.. i guess that pretty much covers the whole spectrum..except... albino. height is nice, but still i don't care, i really do like to see what's inside the guy.. haha that has led me to some pretty.... er, unconventional (you could say) boyfriends. ooooo acccents!!!!!!!!!!! i .... love... muah.. accents! ^see, i get all funny!
