A sad sad story
True story.
A woman who was 32 years old was put into a hospital because the doctors said that there was a whole in her intestines (very minute) but it was causing a bad reaction. The doctors (in their superiority) complimented each other in being able to catch such a thing that could be deadly. After the surgery that they performed to correct (dont know the most fitting word here) the hole, they discovered that one of the doctors had accidently wrapped her intestines around her liver, causing the liver to get less and less circulation. You can imagine the lawsuit flashing in the hospital boards eyes, so they told the parents of the woman to drive her to Kansas City, to go to the hospital there. They did not fly her, or send her by ambulance. Her parents had to take her in their rented suv. She died on her way to the hospital. Her 14 year old daughter gave the eulogy, and the funeral was one of the worst things I have ever went to. No punishment is being given to the doctors who operated on her, and her parents dont have enough money to spearhead a lawsuit. They can barely pay for the operation and her hospital stay (the hospital is making them pay). I have alot of opinions on this. Not exculding taking the sorry greedy leaches out back and doing mean things to their flesh. But that is morbid. What do you think should happen?

I find it hard to believe that the parents of the deceased couldn't find a lawyer that would take the case without money up front. Most will take the case for 40% after the case is either settled or won.

Well, I doubt even if they had the money (which I have aforementioned they don't) I don't think their religion would let them sue.
::shrug:: I would. |

If their religion will not let them sue, I assume they will be leaving 'justice' to their god then. Therefore, there's nothing to be done now.

It makes me mad. We really need a new generation of doctors.
The emergency room in our hospital....If it ain't bleeding, it'll be a four hour wait. A nurse looks at you, determines whether or not you need a brace to hold you still until you've paid your time, and then you sit or lay on a cot provided. If it is bleeding, they'll let you see the doctors in an hour or three. This one kid had been attacked by a dog: his arm was a bloody mess and probably broken, and he still had to wait, like, two hours or something.

I agree with Elenka:
My grandmother went to the hospital for a 'simple' Gall bladder sugery and they pierced her intestines and now she can't do anything.
