Is a Woman President controversial?
I don't think it is. I don't think many people do either, but, in my opinion, Hillary seems to be 'cashing in' on that issue...
Thoughts?

it's never happened in the US before, so it is for that reason... i think it'd be a good thing though... in a broad sense, from managing and working with other big corporations i tend to find female management a bit easier to work with temperment-wise... obviously there are exceptions on both sides, but i think it'd be worth a shot

We (Canada) had a female primeminister for a few months, a couple of years ago, and it didn't raise too many conflicts....but who would be the first lady? :P

We have a female president, and there's nothing controversial about that. Next year we have elections, and she'll probably be re-elected.
Though the US is an entirely different case, I guess..

But I'm starting to ask myself wether we're bieng made to think so: with the new show, and with Hillary's early campaigning. You see, I don't think many people over here have a problem with it. But if people are made to think it's considered taboo-ish, people might get indignant, and perhaps a resounding victory for a woman candidate will be the result. The thing to do though is make sure the right woman gets in.

What do people have against Hilary Clinton? Genuine question; what's the reason for the vitriol?

Lots of countries have had female leaders - it's not a big deal. I think it would be a mistake for any candidate to deliberately make it seem controversial, because that can alienate as many people as it attracts. Personally, if I were running for office, I'd want voters to judge me as a politician rather than as a woman.
