About Faramir and Eowyn's Hair...
Can anyone tell me what color Faramir and Eowyn's hair are? Eowyn's must be blond, 'cause she's from Rohan, but isn't Faramir's blond too? Near the end of the RotK there's a bit where a breeze blows their hair out and it mingles, "raven and gold" is what it said. So who has raven hair and who has gold?

Hmmm, Faramir is being played by David Wenham who has kind of coppery-blonde hair, you know like blonde but with a strawberry-reddish tint to it? And Boromir (Sean B) had sandy-brown coloured hair....I dunno. Does it matter?

Eowyn's hair is the 'a river of gold', so I guess Faramir would have the raven hair.

Cool. Never noticed that. I knew Eowyn was blonde because the "White Lady" should be fair haired and fair skinned.
So if Faramir has black hair, then so does Boromir. I always imagined them as sandy blond for some reason. |

Faramir must have black hair. I think Boromir is discreibed when he first enters the story as blackhaired and since Faramir said as looking exactly as his brother had done he must have been blacjhaired as well.

I always thought of Farimir as blond too, but yeah, he must have the black hair.

Eowyn was blonde, at least that is what I always believed and I think I read somewhere that that haircolour was dominant with the Rohirrim. And I thought that most Gondoreans had darker hair. So that would go for Faramir.

I believe the Numenoreans were generally dark-haired and grey-eyed. The Rohirrim were of course famously towheaded.

But the numenoreans were descended mostly from the third house of the Edain (the house of Hador) who had blonde hair.
The first house (Beor's house) had dark hair and although there were some of the first house in Numenor weren't most of the Third?

All the Rohirrim were blonde, it explains their illiteracy.

In reply to Finrod Felagund: But I believe that most royalty of the Numenoreans were of the house of Beor, not sure though. |

hm... doesn't it seem like we picture almost everyone from LotR as a blonde?
question (while we're talking about blondes): does it actually say anywhere that Legolas was blonde? |

Well, in the MOVIE......
www.lordoftherings.net Movies: cast. If you scroll far enough left, you hit both Faramir and Eowyn. (And Eowyn looks a bit long in the tooth to be herself, if you catch my meaning...)

I was just reading this, so I remember...Faramir is described in TTT as having dark hair like Boromir (the movie was WRONG! they probably gave him lighter hair so he wouldn't be confused with Aragorn), and I know the Rohirrim are all blonde. I'd give you the exact pg. number, but I don't want to go find it.
