Buddy's Thread
For those of you who stay out of the Vent Thread and the Happy Thread... here are some links to the background of Buddy...
scroll down to where it says "no dog" http://entmoot.tolkientrail.com/show...pagenumber=149 it continues for 3 pages. Page 150 has the email that I sent to the SPCA that has the whole story. and here in the Happy Thread... http://entmoot.tolkientrail.com/show...012#post332012 Just to reiterate... it was NOT the SPCA's policy to take a dog back once it has been officially adopted by a new owner. That action was taken by one person on her own, and completely against SPCA policy. It is normally perfectly safe to adopt a dog from the SPCA. I encourage everyone to do so. Because of the turmoil and strife of adopting Buddy, I'm considering renaming him. I can't think of a suitable name for him at this time. I'm asking for suggestions from the Moot members for dog names. Dogs usually respond best to 2 syllable names. I like Huan.. but then Huan was a wolf hound, so it doesn't fit really. JD and Jonathan have already suggested Finrod. Somehow, I don't think that's right either. Though.. it would be nice to be able to say to SGH that Finrod lives with me. I'll post pics of him soon. He is a beautiful dog.
You could call him Aule, because I agree with gimli7410, he does look like a strong and sturdy dog. Or Frodo, since you had to go on what seemed like a long and harrowing quest to finally get him...okay, that made no sense...but he kind oflooks like a Frodo to me.

Yeah, Beren fits nicely, because Beren got to come back to Luthien and they were together again. Buddy got to come back to you Ru.

How about something in Quenya or Sindarin with the -dil suffix? Rudil? (lover of Ruinel?)

wow... great suggestions!
I love Tulkas, Beren and Gimli. Though, I'm not sure if he's hairy enough to be Gimli... no beard. He loves to wrestle with my roommate's dog... Tulkas would be a good name. He did come back to me again... Beren would be a good name, too. Keep them coming... I'll run them by the dog and see what he likes. |

He's a beautiful Baby! I hope you two live happily ever after. As for a name, I don't know. Maybe Louis, or Jack?
