I just saw one out my window.
It was kind of long--shaped like a hot-dog. It came RIGHT up to my window, and it was about a foot long, and the ends were kind of wiggling and flapping up and down. A teeeeny tiny little gray-green man poked his head out of a ramp that lowered, and then the ramp closed and the ship flutter-floated away again! Tell me! Tell me! |

Sounds like a howlusanation... (my spelling is bad!) Or a strange bird, or a government aircraft, or a flying hotdog, or a hoax, or your pet, or a strange cloud formation, or we have yet another unexplained UFO, but that's probubly not it... P.S. I'm not with the government or my spelling would be better!

If you're worried about your spelling, just cut and paste your message into Microsoft Word (or some other program) and use the spelling check feature. Then just cut and paste it back onto the entmoot--it's what I do when I try to spell a word I know isn't right.

whaddya' reckon Tessar?
*(slang, accent or Colloquial usage here as in most of my posts (uk spellings here to note: not US )* Doth' he protest too much? Maybe this whole Spelling thing is a ruse, a shadowy veil and cover for ME9996's high-ranking top-secret Inter-Govermental UFO position? Perhaps we were subject to some sort of alien or Secret Federal sub-concious brain-wave attack (attempting to cause world-wide Friction and Mis-understanding episodes? Think about it; it'd explain a lot!) (there may be the odd flaw in this theory: but you can surely see why they'd target the Intelligensia on the Moot first! ) P.s. ME9996 ("immortal one" and first contact on the Moot): i did try to pm you a congrats on your 700th post but your box was full! Best grats, man! My very best MR T! p.s sorry if i snapped a little in the Crusades: working late and pretty stressed at the time, took it the wrong way |

If I did come face to face with an alein I'd... don't know if I can say that here... but I know aleins don't exist as I am a christain, so it would have to be something evil (not going into spasifics)... And why would the government try to cover anything up? Unless (gasp!) elvis was an alein...

If God made other races on other planets, I don't see why they would go to H-e-doubletoothpicks. God is unchanging, and part of that unchanging-ness is that He's loving and just and merciful, so I don't see why Jesus wouldn't atone for other races, too, just like how Aslan did in Narnia. Remember, Narnia isn't supposed to represent Christ on earth; it's supposed to show how if there WERE other sentient beings in other places, God might offer salvation thru the death of His Son to them. In the (hypothetical) case of Narnia, Jesus was incarnated as a lion. If people existed on other planets and they had huge ears that they flew around with, I imagine Jesus would be incarnated on their planet like that.
I don't know if aliens exist or not. I see how it could go either way. I imagine we'll find out one day - fun!

I think that with all the stars and galaxies and what have you that if there werent other races of people out there, then it would be a pretty big waste of space. I would imagine that God or whoever, would just leave what they look like up to the individual evolution of whatever planet they ended up on. Also, I think it is arrogant as a race to think we are the only ones here, also, to think we are the brightest. Beor out.

Me9996, you need to keep in mind though that it was Mankind who caused his own downfall, which lead him to sin and the possibility of going to hell.
What if God made another race that never fell? Or if they did, as we did, what if Jesus suffered and died for them as well, and not just for us? The bible doesn't say that you can't believe in Aliens, and there's no Church Doctrine that says so. So if you want to believe in them, go right ahead . EDIT: I just realized that I said "Believe that ghosts exist" in my earlier post. What I MEANT to say, was aliens . Last edited by Tessar : 05-11-2005 at 06:05 PM. |

and it's awfully hard to prove a negative; I don't think we can say with any certainty that there are no aliens.

Try CS Lewis' OUT OF THE SILENT PLANET, PERELANDRA, and THAT HIDEOUS STRENGTH for a view of the Universe that is capable of embracing the vastnesses of the Solar System and multiplicity of beings. And recall that it was quite well known that the size of the earth in relation to the cosmos was that of an infinitesimal point in medieval astronomy.
Flatland exists in knowledge of history and not just geography or astronomy! BoP, I am delighted to see you back on the board! Did you just get back from an intergalactic tour or are you messing with the infinite improbability drive again?
