What actor would you envision in the role of....
Reading this thread (Can The Tolkien Estate ALWAYS Hold The Silmarillion Rights? ) gave me an Idea:
For the Tale of Beren and Luthien: What actor would you envision in the role of Beren? Luthien? “That Evil Elf?” (guess ) Melian? Finrod? What do you think mooters?

I don't even want to go there! It would break my heart if anyone ever attempted to make a Silmarillion movie, or even a movie of one of the tales, such as Beren and Luthien!

But that is not what I ask, I ‘m just curious whom people see as the actor/actress more “in character” with the Silmarillion’s characters.

It would be hard to think of actors and actresses to play characters from The Silmarillion, just because in my mind the characters seem to be bigger than life. The only character I could come up with an actor for, is I thought of Joaquin Phoenix to play Feanor. He played Mel Gibson's brother Merrill in Signs and he was Commodus in Gladiator. To me, he's always had that angsty broody thing going on.

Yeah, I can see it now, Thingol demanding the Silmarils to allow Beren and Luthien marriage and Beren answering, “I’ll be back!” with a funny Austrian accent.

Oh, come on, SGH, you mean to tell me this isn't how you picture Finrod?

Well, no, not exactly. Fabio is handsome, but he isn't Finrod. Finrod is, well, more handsome. There isn't anyone out there that can be Finrod.

How about Brad Pitt then?
Seriously, whom that you know of would you say is closest to your mental image of Finrod?

I don't know. I see Finrod as tall and blonde with beautiful eyes, but he has a boyish way and a baby face.
