R*an and Artanis
Is it just me, or do other people have trouble differentiating their posts? They are two of the nicest people in the forum and I like reading their posts, but I always end up looking at their posts as if written by the same person. I know that their avatars are different but I get confused.
Shooooooot, is it just me then?

“What does the term american refers to” asked the boy, and the wise man answered: “Lets look at the dictionary then.” As an adjective American is: 1. Of or relating to the United States of America or its people, language, or culture. 2. Of or relating to North or South America, the West Indies, or the Western Hemisphere. As a noun American is: A native or inhabitant of America. A citizen of the United States. Then the boy asked, “What is America then?”, and the wise man looked at the dictionary again: 1. The United States. 2. also the A·mer·i·cas. The landmasses and islands of North America, Central America, and South America. Confused, the boy asked, “Does the term american refers solely to a us citizen or to any person in North, Central or South America?” The wise man replied: “What do you think?”, and the boy answered: “It is clear to me that while the term american is used to refers to us citizens, one can also use it to refer to any person who is from that continent too,” the boy thought for a while and asked the wise man, “Am I right?”, and he replied: “But of course.” The boy wondered, why is it that some people refuse to acknowledge the fact that the term american refers not only to US citizens but to anyone of the American continent?, but then sadly, the boy understood, that it is the calamity of ignorance. |

Maedhros, to set me equal with Rian was a great compliment. What can I say? Thank you indeed. And you already know I love your posts.

Hmm, I always see the avatars, so I don't have that kind of problem. But I do certainly see a similarity in the two.

Didja miss me?
Hi all - I've been offline since Monday eve - the ol' computer finally crashed and burned, so we had to go get another one.
I eagerly got back on Entmoot after getting the new computer set up and saw ... this thread! How funny! So I guess if Maedhros missed me, he could just read some of Artanis' posts Well, Artanis and I are both: -- extremely intelligent -- very witty -- stunningly gorgeous (see the 'picture of me' thread) -- mothers with 3 kids -- women with engineering degrees/work -- married to great guys -- English-speaking (although it is my first language, and her 15th or so!) (BTW, first three points are j/k, as far as I'm concerned ) However, Artanis: -- wears bathing suits outside when there's snow on the ground! (while I only wear them in warm weather!) And I: -- hang out on the 'religious' threads, where I make extremely long-winded posts trying to explain/clear up Christianity issues , which is why I've neglected the Sil forum lately AND OUR AVATARS ARE VERY DIFFERENT!!! (her's is a lot prettier, mine is just my Tengwar scribbles that say "Rian") So thank you very much for the compliment of saying you can't tell me apart from Artanis, I'm very flattered (AND SGH - if you don't PM me soon and tell me what you guys said about me, I'll BUST!!!!!!!)

I tend to group people together either by where I bump into them, or by similarities in name or avatar.
While I haven't actually gotten Rian and Artanis mixed up, they, along with SGH and Maedhros, post frequently in the Silmarillian forum. If I were to play word association with their names, the names would eventually link up. I get TC and LT mixed up all the time, but I suppose that's excusable, since Tinuviel is part of both of their names.
